This cool Neo-Gothic building was built in 1925 for General Motors as the McLaughlin Motor Company Showroom and it continued to be a car showroom until 2007. It has heritage designation so the structure itself has become a restaurant with a condo building rising from the former parking lot.

Good front. I wish you a happy new year full of happiness ♥ Pat. And to continue sharing;)
ReplyDeleteFeliz año Nuevo.
Besos.
nice!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great looking building. Well worth heritage status.
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of an auto showroom in Paris...I think it was for Porsche cars. In both cases the buildings are very special. I'm guessing this is one swanky restaurant!
ReplyDeleteA very interesting building, but not exactly the place we would expect to find a car dealership!
ReplyDeleteWonderful façade!
ReplyDeleteA melhor saída é seguir em frente com motivação.
ReplyDeleteFeliz Ano Novo

These old showroom buildings often have more than a touch of visual opulence. Our local Cadillac showroom was preserved and became a Whole Foods store.
ReplyDeletelooks impressive
ReplyDeleteWow. A good piece of history still intact.
ReplyDeleteLocally the former Cadillac/Lasalle dealership building is is around and it's a classy place.
ReplyDeleteNice front for a car showroom. I like it.
ReplyDeleteI imagine the restaurant in this lovely building would be quite atmospheric.
ReplyDeleteA building with style!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful building!
ReplyDeleteFancy
ReplyDeleteWow! What a showroom.
ReplyDeletevery nice.
ReplyDeleteThat is a very impressive building for a car dealership. My Dad's car dealerships didn't look anything like this. A restaurant is a perfect use of the space. Glad to know the building is being preserved.
ReplyDeleteSuch a cool building!
ReplyDeleteimpressive
ReplyDeleteNandos are popping up everywhere! Although this has to be one of their grander entrances... Best Wishes for 2016.
ReplyDeleteP.S. All the best in 2016!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great. When old facades began to be turned into shells in front of tall glass towers, I was a bit negative, but these days I accept that is better than nothing.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful building, I am glad it is designated heritage.
ReplyDeleteSuch fine architecture!
ReplyDeleteexcellent.
