Industry

This is the last scary bit from the Lawrence Ave mural that I have been showing you for the last several Mondays. The artists say that it is meant to represent the animals that have passed away due to the mining and fossil fuel industries. Next week we will be on to the last few sections that are quite positive. I liked the juxtaposition of the apartment building up above the mural with the scene below.

  1. The message is important, and the mural presents it very graphically and dramatically!

  3. Looks like doom and gloom but we humans have done a poor job of taking care of our planet. I look forward to the positive bit, though. ;)

  4. I like this section even if it is a little scary. I also like the way this photo makes it look like another world exists just below that apartment building.

  5. Seriously right on point, and the symbolism is scary. I'll have to go find the other sections. Have a super Monday!

  6. It does have a bit of an end of the world feel to it... Coal mining and deforestation...

  7. I just adore all the bright colors though! It certainly is a work of art, I bet they had fun putting it together too.

  8. Reminds me of Georgia O'Keeffe's work.

  9. Looks like a story behind this mural like your previous ones. Depicting something scary. I do like how this person created those trees in the mural.

  11. There's an important message here Pat. Sometimes I think the artistic mind sees things as they are a little clearer than the masses!
