Walrus

This is another of the soapstone sculptures from the collection at the Vets Centre at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. It was carved in 1970 by the artist Shorby. Nice isn't it?

  1. The Vets Centre is more than I imagined. Then again I have only seen it from the outside.

  2. It is nice Pat, wonder what it's carved in.. couldn't be malachite could it, or soapstone? Lovely smooth lines.

  3. It's a beauty! And it captures well that walrus "coolness." I mean, he's laid back, checking things out, saying, "What's happenin' man?"

  8. When I see a walrus, I think of the Beatles. Same with yellow submarines.
