Despite the signs posted around James Gardens asking people not to feed the animals, tossing bread to the ducks and geese is a very popular activity at the park. This gentleman was very popular with all the creatures.

i'd have a hard time resisting. although i'd probably be scattering scratch feed - like i do here.
ReplyDeleteIn europe is the same feeding birds in public parks
ReplyDeleteI see this a lot here too. I think it would be safer for the birds if people would purchase some feed for them rather than feeding them commercial bread. However, they do seem to thrive.
ReplyDeleteHe's going to have a tough time cleaning his shoes when he gets home! They are messy critters!
ReplyDeletelaw breaker!
ReplyDeleteHope he's got a lot of food.. hopefully the right kind of food, naughty chap!
ReplyDeleteThe geese would follow him anywhere!
ReplyDeleteYou just know this was a fun moment!
ReplyDeleteThe gang look quite expectant.
ReplyDeleteHello, it is hard to resist. What a big group of geese and ducks. I think the seed is better than feeding them bread.
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend!
The geese and ducks must love seeing a person approach the area.
ReplyDeleteManna from heaven! :-)
ReplyDeleteThat is a lot of birds! Great photo!
ReplyDeleteI used to feed the ducks and geese as a way to use up stale bread, but now I smear it with butter and give it to my dog - she loves it!
Humans love to bend the rules!
ReplyDeleteWhy oh why would anyone feed them? Especially the Canada geese. They foul the whole area and should be discouraged.
ReplyDeleteThere is a reason for those signs. Geese learn quickly, and can become annoying and insistent when people start to feed them. They are much better off with a natural diet of plants and grain. Jack also makes an excellent point.
ReplyDeleteI'm laughing at the gather of the geese. It is a typical scene across the GTA. They have lost their fear of humans.
ReplyDeletePoor starving geese, LOL! , so glad to see someone finally feeding them. I have a love/hate relationship with those critters .... when we lived at the lake, they were sobpretty to watch on the water and so messy on the land.... we could never wear shoes inside after a walk.
