Water Dogs

A couple of weeks ago before we had really heavy rains that filled our rivers, I spotted these 2 older dogs wading in the Humber River with their owner watching from afar. I was a bit nervous that they may lose their footing and be swept away but they both managed to get out. They probably go in every day for all I know!

  1. I think you're right to worry and the owner(s) are not very smart. Dogs could very quickly be swept away in a strong current. Let's hope they don't do this often.

  2. Maybe they do, but I'd be scared too! Most dogs do love water, that's like such a draw for them! Sure is a pretty place too!

  3. Perhaps these old dogs have learned a few tricks to keep themselves out of trouble. Many dogs love playing in the water, and they do not mind climbing into a car all wet and muddy.

  5. Lots of fun for dogs, especially on hot days and after getting groomed - just to show their human slaves that some don't appreciate getting rid of the great scent :)

    Nice one, Pat!

    Have a Happy Weekend!
    Peace :)

  7. Hope you weren't nearby when they shook themselves to get rid of the water when they came out!

  8. I had a dog who didn't like water at all. She only went out in the rain when she absolutely had to. She was funny that way.
These dogs probably go there regularly if they live nearby. I would be concerned too.

  11. I bet that water is cold! I guess dogs are quite sure footed but I would have been as anxious as you were Pat ☺

  13. Those dogs are probably used to it, but I expect their human kept them away during the flooding.
