Crossing With No Cars

I was at the Exhibition Place grounds early on a Sunday morning so there was very little traffic around which meant easy crossing for this pair. This large crosswalk is suitably found in front of the Automotive Building which was built in 1929 to showcase automotive displays during the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE). This is no longer a priority and the open display room has been converted to a large ballroom and the space is used for events and conventions. It is a lovely Art Deco building and one day I will bring you a lot of detail shots. Like everything else these days sponsorship of the building has been sold to Beansfield so their name is up top.

    I find corporate branding to be incredibly tacky. Unfortunate that it mars such a beautiful building.

    It is a magnificent building and your photo is delightful. Would you say the woman and dog walking across the street was serendipity? I agree with William about corporate branding, but I guess that's what we get when we've basically acquiesced to a plutocracy dressed in faded democratic clothing.

    I always got nervous walking my dog around streets with cars. Her old vet was on a very busy road and she loved to "be free" so I was very nervous making sure she did not get out of my grip

    Beautiful building. I wonder if they ever have like the World's Expo there? When I was little my family went to one and that building reminds me of it!

    That is a very wide street which must make it difficult to cross when there is traffic. The women and dog. bring scale to this photo.
