Car Free
I'm back to posts about the Toronto Islands for a few days where I had gone to watch the running race. The runners I showed you on Sunday took off running along this roadway for 3km & then back and since the Toronto Islands form the largest car-free community in North America the only vehicles they had to watch out for were bicycles and these rental pedal machines. There are a few service vehicles around during the day such as fire engines and that is it.
Such a good idea Pat, it's the same here on Rottnest Island just off our coast.. no cars, just bikes and legs ☺
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun in the Summer, but what about Winter?
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day!
Hello,
ReplyDeleteSounds great to me, to be car-free. Enjoy your day and week ahead!
Bicycles are a great way to get around, especially if there are no cars.
ReplyDeleteThe Islands really are a different way of life... so close to the city and seeming to be a world away.
ReplyDeleteIt must be so peaceful without all that traffic.
ReplyDeleteA car free area is good, looks so peaceful !
ReplyDeleteI did not even know such a place existed here, very cool!
ReplyDelete...good idea.
ReplyDeleteMust have been relaxing, Pat!
ReplyDeleteCompared to downtown Toronto the island looks so peaceful.
ReplyDeleteVery cool, life without a vehicle is nice. I gave up my four years ago and haven;t missed it at all. I am a bus rider and love it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a peaceful place that must be.
ReplyDeleteSounds like paradise.
ReplyDeleteThese bikes are common and popular vehicles in some of our area parks. I guess I should try one of those!
ReplyDeleteSuch a different way of life. slower and more relaxed I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteWinter might be too challenging for the likes of me though.
Nice pic Pat!
So cool, these are really fun, although depending on how much weight you have in them, it can be quite the workout as well. Been there!
