Island Living

I thought I'd give you a look at one of the houses on Ward's Island many of which were originally cottages that have been winterized and renovated. Most of their lots are quite small and I couldn't help thinking that you would have to be considerate on a hot summer night when everyone's windows were open although this house may have air conditioning. There are no stores on the Island so everything must be brought across on the ferry and then wheeled home by wagon or some kind of bundle buggy since there are also no cars. Not fun in the winter!

  2. I think "winterized" and "island" should never be in the same sentence together.

  3. I know of someone who has a place on Ward's. She works as a nurse at one of the hospitals downtown. It's a different pace of life out there.

  4. Such a pretty home Pat. I guess if you were really organised you could have a wonderfully quiet break from everyday life, sounds good to me ☺

  5. What a pretty little house. It is certainly beautifully maintained. I can't imagine living there in the winter though. I wonder if they winter in Arizona.

  6. A well tended, comfortable looking house. Riding the ferry would be fun, except during bad weather.

  11. Love that cute little house.
Although I would love the isolation, not sure about the winter.

  13. I'm catching up and reading backwards ... didn't dream of anyone living on athis island in the winter! Not fun at all (IMHO)... but the cottages are beautiful and I can imagine it would be hard for people to leave.
