Owl On Bloor St

While walking along Bloor St during the Open Streets event I spotted this new mural on the side of the Kimpton Saint George Hotel which is located at St George St and used to be a Holiday Inn until an extensive renovation and a new launch in June of this year. The artist is Birdo whose work I have shown you before (click on the Birdo label below). Apparently there is a lot of art in the hotel so I will have to go back to check the interior out.

  1. What a fabulous find Pat, love the city-scape reflected in it's eyes and all the patterns.
P.s. you were right when you spotted that our revolving doors turn clockwise.. we really do do things the opposite way down-under 😀😀

  2. Kimpton hotels are known for their art and sort of an eclectic look. I've grown very fond of that hotel chain. I stayed at one in Seattle and one in L.A. recently and both were very nice places with all kinds of quirky arts touches. I love the owl here and all of Birdo's work.

  9. It's so cute. One of my clients is a super fun of the owl, and I would like to suggest to take a few wedding photos there.

  10. That's quite a nice mural. We stayed in a Kimpton hotel in Washington, D.C., Hotel George. It had interesting graphics of George Washington in our room. It's since gotten crazy expensive.

  16. Terrific photo of a great mural! I like the details others have mentioned, and the nearly-missed-it stack of cubes on which the owl is standing. Excellent!
