This is the entrance to the historic hall of the Royal Conservatory of Music on Bloor St. This part of the conservatory was built in 1881 as McMaster Hall and renamed Ihnatowycz Hall in 2005. There has been a wonderful renovation and restoration of the building as you can see from the condition of the brickwork around this entrance. I'll show a bit of detail tomorrow.

ReplyDeleteExquisite brickwork. What craftsmanship.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful entrance! Happy Wednesday, enjoy your day.
Glad to see the renovations did not harm the classy entrance.
ReplyDeleteWhat a magnificent entrance!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful entrance. It's one of those entrances that screams "I'm an important building".
ReplyDeleteThat really is a beautiful entry.
ReplyDeleteBEAUTIFUL!!
ReplyDeleteA piece of history was kept honored and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI think I'd have to dress up to go through an entrance like that! It's so grand.
ReplyDeleteYou can see that no sound can leave that building.
ReplyDeleteWhat an entrance!
ReplyDeleteA fine beaux arts building. They don't build like this any more.
ReplyDeleteWow, that is one grand entrance!
ReplyDeleteGosh! Looks like the Smithsonian Institute's so-called Old Castle.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful building!
ReplyDeleteThat's truly gorgeous! They sure knew how to make a statement in 1881.
ReplyDeleteNow that's what I call an entrance. I also think it is wonderful they didn't tear the building down in 2005 or whenever they decided to do the renovation! Here they would have probably demolished the structure and erected a modern building made of glass and concrete. ;)
ReplyDeleteRe your question: We are not at the Oak House often other than to get our mail. And once in a while we'll have dinner in the restaurantl And we go to some of the special events. We're some of the oldest people here and we don't drink so we don't have aot in common with many of them. Getting old ain;t alot of fun!
Now that's what I call an entrance Pat.. spectacular! Love the reflections in the glass ✨
ReplyDeleteI'm a fan of these old beauties!
ReplyDeleteFabulous entrance!
ReplyDeleteNice architecture here. I like it.
