Mapping

This is the lower part of the facade of the tower which was off to the left in yesterday's pic of the ghost sign. This is a new tall condo tower and as part of new construction in the city there is a requirement for a certain percentage of money to be spent on public art. I could find no artist name for this one but did find a reference to it as being inspired by a topography map. It is likely that it lights up at night since this is the entertainment district which really comes alive after dark.

  10. Good the building should display art work. Lewis Mumford said one of the defining characteristics of civilization is great public art.

  11. I like it. In addition to being art it also speaks of place, as topography does. Great concept.
