This the typical sign that our province puts up to mark historical sights. I spotted this one on University Ave near where Mary Pickford was born in 1893. She became a famous actress known as "America's Sweetheart" despite being a Canadian. The houses are long gone from this area which is now a site for several major hospitals.

ReplyDeleteWell worth honouring her.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know that Mary Pickford was born in Toronto! It's wonderful that this sign recognizes her, she certainly made a lasting impression here in the states.
ReplyDeleteYes I've learnt something new today too, merci beaucoup Pat ✨
ReplyDeleteI do think it was "her" playing a role in a The Simpsons-episode :-)
ReplyDeleteNice historical sign. I didn't know that she was a Canadian.

ReplyDeleteGood one.
ReplyDeleteI love historical markers!!
ReplyDeleteThese markers are a treasure.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that so typical? We take your talent and claim it as our own! ;-}

ReplyDeleteThat's neat. It's fun when a marker is about a popular culture icon instead of a battle.
