Archives
This is the City of Toronto Archives building which is located just down the hill from Casa Loma on Spadina Rd (just in behind the trees I showed you on Sunday). It was built in 1992 and holds government & non government records as well as over 1 million pics of the city. The building has climate controlled records, an atrium & exhibit space, a theatre, and a research hall. You can look up info on every building in the city. That is the City of Toronto flag flying on the pole.
I bet there are some interesting photos included in that one million!
ReplyDeleteI happened on this last summer and enjoyed wandering around inside.
ReplyDeletea beautiful building...i assume parts of it are open to the public for viewing. that would be a fun and interesting day trip!!
ReplyDeleteIt seems to have everything, even a dome!
ReplyDeleteHow fine the Toronto has an Archive to maintain its history and all those photographs.
ReplyDeleteOne could spend hours among the treasures there I'm very sure!
ReplyDeleteMaybe you'll have some photos in their archive, you never know.
ReplyDeleteNice building, Pat.
I like the architecture.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like quite a place. Info on every building AND a million pics. Cool!
ReplyDeleteIt's a nice looking piece of architecture Pat, like the touch of the dome on top. Wouldn't it be fabulous to see some of those photos ✨
ReplyDeleteIn all those millions there must be one or two very special photo's. The art is to bring them out.
