"Safe Hands"

In yesterday's post you could just see the very top of this sculpture over in the far left. Titled "Safe Hands", the artist for this one is Ron Arad, a British-Israeli. The 88 ft tall stainless steel structures were originally designed to be kinetic but after realizing the challenges of our winter the decision was made to have them immobile and intertwined. The inclusion of art in new developments is required by city regulations which is a good thing!

  2. Looks nice. Pity there is no movement but it don’t disturb the look.

  3. Probably a wise decision: having it jiggling about outside your window would be a mite distracting!

  5. Eye-catching! Safe hands are so in the news right now that the artist seems clairvoyant.

  6. I wasn't sure what I was seeing. At first, it looked like a chute construction workers sometimes use on multistory buildings. But who is to say they aren't artists, too, in their own right. :-)

  7. Not sure I like that, it does not look like any thing except broken tubes

  8. Wow, that is a monumental sculpture. It looks great, especially with its reflection in the building.

  9. The sculpture is interesting, but I am puzzled as to why it is called 'safe hands'

  10. The name of this piece seems to fit into today's new normal perfectly. I like this. I agree about the inclusion of art. That 's one of the good development regulations.

  12. I don't mind this piece of public art! Would have been neat to see it in motion!

  13. What a great way to support public art and artists. This one would probably have been pretty cool if it was kinetic, too.

Great artwork and good thing they made it stable... wish our lives were like that, too!
