This is the heritage sign found along Draper St which I showed you in yesterday's post. This gives a bit more of the history of the street and some of its past residents. I'll show a couple of the homes tomorrow.
I like to see plaques like this, shedding a little light on the history of the area. We have such a system in Cambridge, but even better was a project carried out by schoolchildren at one of the primary schools in a suburb of the city: they researched who had lived in every house in their local streets 100 years ago and then drew "plaques" for each house and persuaded people to exhibit them in their windows (which were all right beside the street). Interested people, like me, could then wander along and see what the professions of each householder were in the past.
...it has a nice sound to it.

Interesting information. It looks like the area was home to some influential people in Canada's history.
