This is part of another mural from the same community centre as last week's mural. Done by Indigenous artist Philip Cote, this one shows a Thunderbird and Turtle. I have shown you some of his work in the past. I'm not expert enough to be able to accurately tell you the significance of these symbols in the culture so won't try. Next week I will show you the rest.
Taking part in Monday Murals. Click HERE to see more murals from around the world.

It is awesome.
ReplyDeleteI love this. The colors are so vivid and the patterns are wonderful.
ReplyDeletePhilip Cote certainly is a talented muralist. Love the patterns in both the Thunderbird's wing and the Turtle's shell, both bright and vibrant.
ReplyDeleteLove being back!! The turtle image is superb!!
ReplyDeleteAdds interest to an otherwise mundane corner.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly does evoke his background.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful mural, nice colours. I love the turtle.
