These ducks look as if there has been a bit of a disagreement and some are leaving even if it means walking on some ice. The cold never seems to bother their feet.

They do not mind the cold and will stay around so long as there is food. Ducks seem to agree when they are in large flocks.

ReplyDeleteYeS...they seem to do fine in the cold!! the ducks are so cute, my lake has not frozen yet but colder temperatures and snow are coming!!
ReplyDeleteI talked to one of the wardens at a nature reserve once and he told me that when on occasion he lifted swans and ducks out of the water they were always warm as toast, even if the water was near freezing.

ReplyDeleteI did some research on duck feet. They have a separate circulatory system to protect their bodies from the extreme cold.
