It is hard to tell from this pic but there are 2 rail lines running beside this condo building which is under construction. When I walked by recently there was a long train going by in each direction making a huge amount of noise. Considering that the condos in the building started at well over $1 million I hope that the people moving in are ready for a bit of a disruption several times a day.
I imagine they'll be sound proofing them.
ReplyDeleteThey will have double glazing won't they?
ReplyDeleteOnly a million you say... also a parking spot will also cost big $$$$.
ReplyDeleteThat does seem like a strange place to build luxury condos. I don't mind the sound of train whistles but way off in the distance.
ReplyDeleteCould be an annoyance for sure, I wouldn't want to live there.
ReplyDeleteToo much noise for my liking.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI am not sure if I would like living so close to the tracks, it must be loud when the trains go by. Take care, have a great new week!
Maybe they'll install lots and lots of sound insulation. Otherwise, I'm sure it'll sound like my dorm room in college. :-)
ReplyDeleteYou are observant. Hopefully the prospective buyers are too!
ReplyDeletePerhaps specially build for train lovers.
ReplyDeleteLet's hope those windows are soundproofed Pat 😉 love the shot of the two trains passing, so completely different they are!
ReplyDeleteI worked in Columbus, Ohio, made 12 years ago and one year I rented a very nice apartment that was next to railroad tracks. The first night I was awakened about four times by freight trains passing by. By the second night, I never noticed them any more. Amazing what the human mind can do.
