Eating In The Cold

This little Downy Woodpecker has figured out that it is easier to get at the food where it is sitting on the bottom of the holder. The woodpeckers seem to stay with us all winter and always find something to eat.

  1. Hanging on there, despite the snow. It's really windy here today so I haven't noticed any birds on my wildly swinging feeders.

  12. Hello,:=) The Downy Woodpecker is one of my favourite Woodpeckers. The suet is a good source of nourishment in the cold winter months. They figure out the easiest way to eat the food.
