Monarchs

About this same time last year I went by a house in the Annex neighbourhood that had probably over 20 Monarch butterflies fluttering around the front garden and into their side garden. I went by last week and there about 6 Monarchs  moving around from branch to branch of the Blazing Star plant in the front garden. Not as many as last year but still nice to see as I have seen few butterflies anywhere in the city this year. Unfortunately I could only catch a couple at a time in one pic. I will try to go back another day to see if more Monarchs have turned up.

Taking part in Saturday's Critters. Click HERE to see more creatures from around the world.

  4. This is beautiful. It should be time for migration to start.

  5. This is a good time of year to see the Monarch butterflies gathering for their migration south. These butterflies have found a good garden to gather in.

  6. It’s wonderful that you’re keeping track of the Monarch butterflies and their presence in the Annex neighborhood. Even though there weren’t as many as last year, seeing six Monarchs is still a lovely sight, especially given the scarcity of butterflies this year. Your efforts to capture them in photos and your plan to revisit for more opportunities show your dedication to appreciating and documenting these beautiful creatures.

Wishing you a lovely weekend. You are invited to read my new blog post: https://www.melodyjacob.com/2024/09/sighthill-neighbourhood-glasgow.html
