This is all that remains of a long term care home that has been demolished slowly over the last few months. Unfortunately I think it is being replaced with a condo tower but we shall wait and see. It would be nice if it was a nicer LTC instead.
It is always sad to see a well built old building torn down because a new building will make more money. The residents of the LTC facility were displaced and may have moved somewhere less desirable.
It's a shame that everything old is being demolished. A lot of buildings are being demolished here too! Apparently it's cheaper to demolish than to renovate the old!!
Nothing seems to last.

ReplyDeleteI totally agree. The need for affordable housing is reaching a crisis point.
ReplyDeleteI would think the long term care housing is really needed.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day and a happy weekend!

ReplyDelete..tall glass buildings seem to have become the thing in Toronto!
ReplyDeleteI agree. So many are needing places to live.
ReplyDeleteSeniors, I mean! It is cheaper to demolish. The wiring, plumbing, and materials do age, just like people!
DeleteLooks like they are nearly done, I guess building upwards is the thing these days
ReplyDeleteNo public record of what is being built? Pretty much the law in Sweden.
ReplyDeleteI would love to photograph it before demolition
ReplyDelete"Progress" is never ending.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of an LTC within a condo. I wonder why it is not done, that I know of.
ReplyDeleteRedPat, housing seems to be a problem everywhere, sad...
