Hermit Thrush

Up on the roof by my deck I have a very large saucer which I keep filled with water for the birds to bathe & drink. A week ago a pair of Hermit Thrushes appeared and they have been around ever since. I don't think they will be staying for the winter so I will enjoy them now.

Taking part in Saturday's Critters. Click HERE to see more creatures from around the world.

That is a fine photo of a bird we do not see around here. I hope your visitors enjoy their stay on your deck.

How lovely to have Hermit Thrushes visiting your yard! They must appreciate that water source, especially as they prepare for winter. Enjoy their company while you can! 🐦💧 Read my new blog post: https://www.melodyjacob.com/

It seems rather perverse to me that a "hermit" should visit anyone. So I looked it up to find that it does indeed get its name from its shy and solitary behaviour. You must be very honoured!

I like these birds. We have them in summer, and early spring! We've said goodbye, now.

Lovely to have such sweet visitors, even if for only a short while.
