Startled at the Pharmacy Building
When you enter the Leslie Dan Pharmacy building from yesterday's post this is what you discover - 2 of these large steel baskets hanging in the atrium. They are slightly visible through the glass in yesterday's pic. The architect, Norman Foster, created an atrium that runs up through the whole structure lighting all the floors and then created these wonderful pods, each containing a lecture hall, that are suspended like space ships over the main floor lounge. I could have stayed in there all day staring at them! Another pic of them tomorrow.

These place is so cool, very modern, love the design! ;-)
Space ships! A wonder if those lights are actually aliens watching!
Strange sight. Looks like UFO.
Wow, simply amazing.
Cool!
these pods are sooooo cool. i have always loved them 'hiding' in this building. lucky this building was not around in the 60's or i would still be lying there on the floor staring up at them. cannot wait until tomorrow's pic. this building is such a hidden in plain sight gem. thanks, i know that it is difficult to photograph these pods - hard to get back far enough.
This is really nice! Didn't know Norman Foster did any work here in Toronto. Will have to try to see these in person one day. :)
I can just see them in yesterdays post. Interesting to attend a lecture in one.
This is unbelievable. I've never seen anything like this! What an utterly amazing building.
Now that is something to see in person. Great shot.
I would sit down below worrying about the huge pod overhead crashing down on me! It sure is unusual.
very cool.
Foster is a visionary to say the least. Incredible that he gets such things done. He must be a force of nature.
Wow! We have things called pods in some of our more recent university buildings in Edinburgh, but nothing like this. And in fact academics and students don't really like our pods. Obviously we don't have the right kind.
Cool! The buildings exterior doesn't really hint at its other-worldly interior.
