Parkdale Bike Stands 2

This bike stand is located across the street from yesterday's, in front of a slightly run-down restaurant/bar that had a steady stream of guys coming out into the winter sun for a cigarette (there is no smoking inside public places here). I don't know if any of them even notice this lovely stand with lots of slots for bike locks to slip through but I hope they do!

For me it's more a beautiful sculpture than a bike stand (I'd feel guilty to lock my bike to this bike stand)! ;-)

Nice shot - adding the guy in the back definitely adds to the picture.

Great shot. I agree about the man in the background adding interest.

I think the man in the background adds a sense of scale as well as interest.

I love the way something as simple and utilitarian as a bicycle stand becomes a piece of art in Toronto.

It's like a little silver plant sprouting up from the sidewalk.

Great shot. Some bike racks have only one area to put the lock around and they can be really awkward to use. This one is ideal, good looking as well as functional.

I'm glad you told me this was a bike stand as I, too, would have thought it was some kind of public sculpture! Cute and graceful!

I like this shot, it looks botanical to me... Please come enter it in my 'Weekly Top Shot' meme? We're on Week #13 and I'd love to see you share with me and my readers! Here's this weeks' link: http://www.theviewfromrighthere.com/blog/?p=5870

I have enjoyed the last two postings of the bike stands. Having a person in the photo add so much more to the shot. Keep on clicking.

These fantastic bike stands would probably be outlawed here on Health & Safety grounds!

This one's a bit more complicated then the eyeglasses of yesterday.

I have been so intrigued by your bike stand series. They are just gorgeous, and such a wonderful deviation from the typical street furniture of most cities.

Such bike stands are important because it give idea to people to use bikes more and more, and using bikes by most of the people is secret to be happy and active lifestyle.
