How's that for an eye-catching name and sign? Occupying the large space of a former legendary Queen West hang-out, this pub has been here since 2008 and claims to serve cheap beer and good food. I haven't tried it but the name is intriguing for sure! Not sure what's going on on the 2nd floor.

I don't know about you, but a name with "bollocks' in it doesn't draw me to their menu!! :)
I'll try it for the cheap beer. That's a rarity in Toronto.
Maybe I should get a shot of Philthy McNasty's. I've never understood why someone would want to go to a pub with a name like that!
Sounds like Jolly Old London. I kept a list of funny pub names when we visited there -- now I'm sorry I didn't take more sign pictures.
Glad the old building's being at least partially put to good use.
Nice capture!
A fun, jaunty name for a photo shoot, but I'm not sure if I would be attracted to dining there!
We used to go to a pub called The Spotted Dick on Bloor. Sounded funny to us not familiar with that particular food.
What a great sign!
If you hung a sign with the name, "The Dog's Balls" on a pub in this country you'd have 50 million people protesting the you have started a war on religion! :-)
It's a great sign but I agree with some of the others that it isn't particularly attractive for a place to ingest food and imbibe alcohol!
Yes it is an eye catching name. I just hope the dog is wearing pants so that I don't have to look at his bollocks (:-0)
Designed to attract the ladish drinker I guess, there is a real ale over here with the same name & I can never quite bring myself to order it over the bar!
LOL what a great sign. Well-captured, Pat.
would be tempted to go in and sample their grub for sure.
SIGNS
not the most fragrant of names!
Hmmm. What did the clientele look like? :))
Great capture! Funny name! he he he!
Thanks for sharing. And thanks for visiting and taking the time to comment;o)

Hope you are having a nice week****
I too wouldn't be drawn to a meal here with Bullocks for a name, maybe back in my young party days I may have though.
Love It!
A cute name for sure and I love the bulldog in the middle.
I'd be very curious to take a look inside a pub with such fun name!
And bulldogs are soooooo cute!!! :)
Funnier if we change the o to u and write a horizontal line on the two L's.
Great sign Pat!
Great find here, Pat. I love the ironic take upon names of yore.
I suspect I know what is going on up on the second floor, and it doesn't need 3,000 sq feet of space.
(laughing at Julie's comment)
I am rather glad the picture is of the dog's face.
I love the name, for the same reason Julie does. There's a wonderful mystery writer whose books are all named after English pubs. I'm sure she'd appreciate this one.
K
I love the old style font.
Definitely grabs one's attention. Looks like the perfect gathering spot for college students.
What a fun name! I like it!
That's an eye-catcher.
The Dog's Bollocks is also the name of a popular beer, brewed in England by the Wychwood Brewery. Very tasty too. Great shot!
Best name for a pub ever!! Love it, fantastic find Red.
I love it!!
plus the building is so cool looking
Love the sign and the capture.
Lovely building. I'm really fond of this type of windows on top.
I have to admit to using this phrase to describe anything I consider to be generally excellent. To think I had a good education...
