Staying In Heritage Charlottetown
These homes are actually part of a unique hotel in the historic centre of Charlottetown, the provincial capital of PEI. In the 1990s a heritage hotel (circa 1846) was purchased and then the owners proceeded to buy up all the adjacent historic buildings in the entire square city block. All the buildings were restored to their former glory and now visitors check in at the original hotel and have the choice of staying there or in one of these gorgeous clapboard homes. I would have liked to have shown you a whole row of these homes but this was the only break in the line of trees!

I would love to be on the third floor of the yellow building and look out the window.
These are great. I'd love to stay in a place like this.
A superb idea and it looks like a great place to stay but I'll bet it costs big bucks! Love the muted colors.
What a great idea, it's the first time I see somenthing like that. I would love to stay in one of these lovely hotels (a bedroom with a view, of course)! :)
Are they too expensive?
The prices range from $200 to $900 per night so it isn't a cheap place but what a lovely experience it would be!
Wow! Now that's row housing! Such a great idea too, I'm impressed.
What a fabulous idea, far nicer than some cheap chain hotel. Love historic preservation when applied appropriately.
This is my kind of place. I like hotels with character.
I definitely want to stay in one!!! They are super cute and look very cozy.
... and so well kept too.
Very nice Pat. I'm a big fan of PEI (even without Anne). :-)
Lovely area. Isn;t it wonderful when one hears of renovation stories like that?
Lovely homes -- in the post above you mentioned Anne of Green Gables musical -- I didn't realize (but I should have) that you are now in PEI (or at least were when you took these pictures.) Of course! Wonderful trip.
There are some grand old builds in Charlottetown and this is one of them.
Wonderful job they have done here.
