Neighbours

One last shot of 180 Queen St W, this time taken from a perspective showing its east neighbour, Campbell House which was built in 1822. I love the juxtaposition of styles and one must get there before the leaves come out to get a good view. More on Campbell House on Tuesday's post (after Monday Murals).
Happy St Patrick's Day to everyone!

That building has some interesting architectural features and you are right, it makes a nice contrast with the older building.

I think I prefer the Campbell House architecture as it seems more "human" scale and thus friendlier and easier to comprehend.

Happy St. Pat's Day to you, too.

Very nice juxtaposition, RedPat. In an old city like Hartford, this kind of thing occurs frequently. The best contrast is the Old State House (approx. 1820) and a variety of new buildings that ring it.

Have fun at your St. P celebration.

Just popped over from Karen's Blog I love that place it is sad that it is crowded with neighbours so close. Beautiful building. B

It must have been lovely when it was a street of the old houses.
