There is nothing like wet clay to capture a moment in time and in these freshly thrown bowls you can see the marks left behind by the fingers of the potter. Fresh clay like this is so alive and even the best glazing can't bring it back to this wonderful stage.

nice!!
Those look beautiful! I wouldn't mind some of those!
I've got to admit, this post just bowls me over. Great theme day shot. Wait, is it theme day? Yikes!
This is something I wish I had learned to do. I love pottery and in fact I have a pretty good collection of different shapes and sizes. Some sit above my kitchen cabinets and some my bookshelves. I love them.
I agree with you RedPat, beautiful bowls! ;-)
Love this! Gosh, I haven't thrown in years.
You have really brought them to life, I can almost smell the damp clay!
Yes clay does look especially attractive in it's 'raw' state.
these make a really cool picture!
These are simply beautiful and beautifully done. And the clay has the bonus that it looks like milk chocolate (it's lunchtime - what can I say?). Nice light and shadows in this shot.
Great symmetry and a fine post for today!
I love the smell of fresh clay. Perfect bowls. Thanks for sharing. =)
Those are nice, RedPat. I wonder how they will be glazed and fired.
Love the texture and pattern in this. Isn't it a pity you can't really get finished bowls that look just like this, though I know they can look lovely when glazed and finished.
I love the tactile quality you captured! Great theme take.
I like the patterns in them.
Takes a lot of skill to make them so uniform.
This is a lot of work. I love the shape. Perfect for Theme Day.
Reminds me of a visit I had to the Wedgwood factory in Stoke-on-Trent. Wonderful photo.
Gorgeous shot.
They do look so nice 'au naturel' Pat,how amazing to see so many perfectly shaped bowls all together...this picture would look very different if most of us had been doing the 'pottering' oui :)
I love how they smell, too. A very fine contribution to the theme!
Yes, very lovely in this stage of the making.
excellent image ! :)
