You Are Here

I'm continuing my tour of the Evergreen Brick Works and showing this wonderful steel crow found atop the direction sign. Once again there was no artist name given but he looked so good against that blue sky, don't you think? If you look on the map, the kiln house is that very long structure to the right giving you an idea of just how long those kilns were!

He does look good sitting up there Pat, like he's about to fly off any minute :)

At first glance I thought the crow was real! Thought it was pretty big!

I bet he looks real from a distance! Heck, from even a few feet! ;)

The steel crow looks pretty realistic as a silhouette.

I agree with you. Its a nice sign but perhaps it could be confused with a real bird.

Some people would take that as a bad omen.

great timing with the bird perched up like that.

That is a fine looking crow, perhaps the most intelligent of birds. Good symbol for a map.

Perhaps the artist did not give his name as he did not want to crow about his achievement?

I like the way you silhouetted the bird against that blue sky!

I almost thought you had found a giant crow!

I also love those rain barrels below and photographed them before the wildflowers got a little too wild.

I really do have to check that place out!

What a great steel crow. I'm fascinated by the brickworks kiln with the track running through it in your earlier post, it's a shame it's roped off as it would be interesting to explore.

Love the bird.

Judging by the size of the smaller text on the sign, that steel crow must be huge! He does look nice against that blue sky.
