Before The Ice Storm
This is a view of the playground in the park where I showed you the benches last week, taken before the huge ice storm that hit Toronto on the weekend. Many of the trees visible in this pic and especially in the pic of the looong bench have lost major branches or have fallen over completely. I am preposting this post but as of Monday afternoon it was a dangerous place to walk so I have no pics of the devastation because I just scurried by. There are still 250,000 homes without electricity in Toronto although I am lucky in that we never lost power and therefore have had heat but many of my friends and relatives have not been so lucky!

I am relieved to learn that you have survived the massive storm and still have power and heat. Mother Nature really showed her power.
I'm so glad to hear that you didn't have to suffer through a cold and dark house at Christmas. It will be sad to see some of the damage to those trees.
Wonder what it looked like after the storm! Very pretty.
It looks tranquil. I have been taking pics of ice damage northwest of Toronto the last couple of days.
By the way I saw a mural on my way in I thought I should give you a tip on since it is a new one of Mandela. South side of richmond st east two blocks or so east of victoria. It is on what looks like a garage door.
so sorry to hear about the extensive damage! i hate to hear of folks without power for long periods of time!
Looks pretty would like to see the aftermath if you get one
Sounds awful!

This looks so serene and lovely - before the storm. I've been reading about it and having been through ice storms in years past I don't envy you at all. You are lucky to have retained power. It so sad, though, that there was so much damage, and so many folks had to suffer.
It pays to have a fireplace for heating when you lose your power. But I do love the snow when it is 'fresh'.
I know how it is to be in a home without power, but I have no idea as how this would be with sub-freezing temperatures outside. Just cannot imagine. Thankfully you were spared the ordeal.
I just love the snow.
Hope all your friends and family get their power back soon. Loverly photo.
A lot of people spent Christmas without electricity in the West of France following the big Christmas Eve storm... Hope things return back to normal for your relatives and the others.
Love the playground.
This is a storm that won't be forgotten for a long time. My brother lives in Scarborough and his power went off on Sunday and came back on Thursday night. Thank goodness we had dedicated people working to restore it.
A very peaceful looking scene, hopefully the power will be restored very soon.
I'm glad you never lost power. I'm surprised that so many people STILL have no electricity!
Here there is less ... is falling sleet.
Have a good Friday!!
I heard about the awful storms in your area. Scary! UK and northern France were very unlucky too.
