Traditional/Modern
One nice thing about winter is that with the leaves off the trees you get a peek at things going on in backyards that would otherwise be hidden. That is the case with this fabulous modern addition to a traditional Annex neighbourhood home. It is still under construction and a few weeks from now will be all but invisible from the street. What a great contrast with the old copper covered turret and weathervane!
Superb juxtaposition! I like the modern look a lot, but there's something to be said about the traditional home. It's nice the two looks can be combined.
ReplyDeleteJust shows it can be done Pat if its done carefully, and as you say when the trees are in bloom it blends even more.
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat addition, sure will have lots of natural light with that huge window.
ReplyDeleteStrikingly different yet blended in well.
ReplyDeletelove that wind vane!
ReplyDeleteLittle is left to flourish again
ReplyDeleteI have a difficult week, Pat. Come to the hospital, Salamanca, we operate Paco hernia. I'll be back next week;)
A Kiss.
I love the contrast! Unique and very cool. Whoever designed this addition is brilliant!
ReplyDeleteI tend to have a wandering eye, especially when the curtains are wide open. Bet they have a nice view.
ReplyDeleteLove that big window!
ReplyDeleteWhat a view they must have!
ReplyDeleteBut... but... who cleans that window? :-)
That's a fantastic window!
ReplyDeleteIt's quite a contrast, but it seems to work.
ReplyDeleteI like the contrast too! That window is wonderful and the old turret adds just the right touch to this picture.
ReplyDeleteHmmm.
ReplyDeleteInteresting addition. You can see a few places like that here in town.
ReplyDeleteInteresting. It looks a bit like the back end of a caravan to me...
ReplyDeleteI think this is an attractive addition. It suits the original.
ReplyDeleteLooks very well-matched. What a huge window. (Hope it's not a bedroom!)
