Needs Some Work

I'm still out in the same part of Bloor St W as the last few days, out towards Lansdowne, with this pic that show what was probably a quite lovely Classical Revival building before a 4th floor was added and the first floor details disappeared. The 2nd & 3rd floor details are wonderful so lets hope that whoever is taking over the ground floor does a nice job.

Oh yes, I would hope they would uncover those fantastic details.

Looks like apartments on the upper floors. I love that arched window over the door.

Yes, but it still looks beautiful.

There is great potential there.

Interesting. Adding a top floor of brick.

I guess if you can't grow sideways, you grow upward. Strange sight, though. It's a very nice building and one would hope that it would be properly cared for.

It is kind of a mongrel, isn't it?

It's still nice.

Quite a hotch-potch. But why do city councils let this happen?

Vast apologies - I was going through new comments on my blog and deleting spam and I have deleted your comment by mistake. That's what comes of blogging too early in the morning. Thank you anyway for your kind comment. You may be interested to know that the Cyclists to Syria have raised over £6000 for Unicef.

Looks like quite a few builders have worked on this building.

It definitely looks a bit 'plonked on top' right now Pat, maybe when the new bricks fade a bit?

I like it better without the top.
