Wilderness In The City
I came upon this little scene out behind one of the galleries in the Yorkville neighbourhood and was thrilled to find the little bird. I am certain that it is a piece by Patrick Amiot & Brigitte Laurent who were originally from Montreal but have been based in California for quite a while now. It is rather nice that he is seated by the bears exploring one of our native trees!

The bears are one thing but what the heck is that colored thing???????
cute little bird! doesn't really go with the natural looking bears, but at least everyone's happy. :)
I shouldn't think Birdman would have any problem recognizing one of his own kind! I think the bird's nose might be a bit larger, but ... and I've heard he wears colorful hats. This is all so funny, I can hardly bear it!
I thought it was maybe tweaking the bar's nose. :-)
Unexpected surprise.
Hi Pat - delightful trio .. and yes isn't the bird (toucan?) brilliant - love him .. fun set up ... cheers Hilary
Love the bears, love the whatever it is... but not together like this...
I would like to know what is the bird?
A bit of a contradiction, but it's quite whimsical.
These sculptures are such fun. Great color and form.
I LOVE the 3 bears!

What a wonderful find! I love the bird.
I love Patrick Amiot's work. I have one of his pieces on display in my dining room. I wondered where he ended up. Thanks for the info. This piece in your photo is great!
I like both of these sculptures especially the bears.
I think this is FUN!
What an u expected treat Pat, don't you just love it when this happens :)
A very cheery looking scene!
So cute! What a nice find.
These look like they would fit in a children's playground.
Cool juxtaposition!
