Silos
I took this pic in January of 2011 showing silos in the Junction neighbourhood that were constructed in 1893 and used for some of the milling operations served by the adjoining railway line. In recent years the silos have been used by a cement company. Tomorrow I will show you the silos as they looked a week ago.

Looking forward tomorrow's picture.
ooooh I'm intrigued - do they look very different??
You've reminded me that I have a silo photo somewhere in my archives that I've never posted. Can't wait to see the recent shot.
Oh me too, looking forward to seeing them now.. If it was Monday tomorrow I'd say they might be covered in murals Pat :)
i like grain operations. always makes me think of the midwest. :)
Impressive size! I wonder what has changed?
Looking forward to the comparison.
I'm wondering what tomorrow will bring too- demolition, perhaps?
I'm reminded of a similar setup in the Streetsville part of Mississauga, though I'm not sure if the silos are still up.
Wow, now that is one massive collection! great capture on your part too.
Impressive! We have some of these in the port area.
Wow... over 100 years old.
Wooowww ... They are huge !!!
Good weekend;)
Sounds like they have been repurposed. That's a good thing.
To me this looks like the countryside, not a city!
cement company looks impressive
I am curious what is going to look different about them. Looking forward to tomorrow.
A poet, not sure who, referred to these silos as, "the cathedrals of the prairies." That seems appropriate. Glad they are still being used.
I don't think I have ever seen so many silos together like that! Very interesting.
They sure are tall.
We will just have to wait, won't we?
And if Birdman is coming, he hasn't told me about it.
Bet it's gonna be good!
