As I came out of yesterday's Mining Building I looked across the road and spotted yet another ghost sign on a nearby building which also now belongs to U of Toronto. This building was built in 1912 for the Ingram Bell company which was a supplier of medical supplies to hospitals and doctors. It looks as if there were 2 signs painted over the years one atop the other.

Another wonderful find!
like an old double-exposure. :)
I've never heard of these referred to as ghost signs but it's very apt. It gives such character to the building!
Pity you can't find ghost signs here.
Nice find, interesting to see!
I like the word "ghost sign" :)
It certainly does look like a combination of signs.
Those are lovely ghost signs. Couldn't quite read them until you provided the full name. Good find.
Nice one! I love these ghost signs.
Like all of them, I love it and you've just reminded me that I need to go photograph one!
definitely strange building
How odd! It looks a bit like a double exposure.
It is almost like doing archeology in a way. Layers and layers of history.
Curious.
I'm always glad to see ghost signs- some bring on warm memories.
I find these old signs fascinating and I guess it wouldn't be too difficult or expensive trying to preserve them...
WOW, what a great one! Tom The Backroads Traveller

That is interesting, it's like one over another maybe? Pretty old building.
Nicely captured!
ghost signs are always fascinating
The thing that, in fairly young cities, give that feeling of age is these ghost signs, I love them and like Ciel, I have an urge to go out and find one :) Super find Pat.
Nice find Pat. It is amazing how these signs have lasted so long.
These things always intrigue me. I can't help but wonder about the companies involved so I appreciate the info on this one. We don't have any of these in Ocala that I've seen but there are a lot in the Colorado towns near where our daughter lives.
This one almost hurts the eyes, trying to read it!
I like the way it looks! A little nostalgic, a bit of mystery.
