This gateway is one of the entrances into Glendon College which is part of York University, one of the three universities in the city. The college is located on what had been the estate of E. R. Wood, a prominent financier who had built his home here in 1924. You can see a stylized W in the centre of the gate itself. I have never been on the grounds of the college so will have to make a point of visiting it soon.

What a fine gatepost indeed. Warm greetings to you!
That is a gatepost that radiates power and wealth. It's also beautiful.
I thought it was a small building! :) Love your photo and it appears you've got some snow.
So glad that you father is in a good place! I can imagine you're relieved. Take good care of yourself, too!
The gateway is a sturdy one!
Magnificent! It is big enough to house a gatekeeper!
A beautiful gate... Three universities? That's great!
An impressive entrance!
It most certainly is! I bet there are other marvelous designs inside as well.
Most impressive! I'm sure the buildings beyond the gates would be well worth the visit!

Gorgeous! And there's snow, yay!!!
Guess you have to donate some pretty big bucks to get your letter on a gate. :-)
Now that is a substantial gate post and gate. It must impress all who go through this gate including the students who attend this school.
Great looking gate and that post is quite grand as well.
It is all beautiful, RedPat, the column, the column decoration, the gate, . . .
Very impressive! I did not see the W until you pointed it out.

I'll say Pat! That's a gate not to be argued with :) So love to see the snow on a 39C day, merci beaucoup!
What an amazing and beautiful gatepost. Now that I look, I can see the W in the gate. Great post this week.
Nice gate and lovely campus!
My cousin was a faculty member there in the late 60s.
