Survivors

I happened upon this little group of White Trilliums recently and was surprised to see them holding their own in a bed of Periwinkle and ivy. The Trillium is the official flower of Ontario (our province) and it is also the official symbol of the province and can be found on many documents and signs. It is illegal here to injure a plant in any way but even so they are endangered in some areas.

  4. They are very beautiful and your photo is so nice and sharp. I'm not sure I've heard of this flower before, but that doesn't mean much because there are lots of flowers of which I've never heard! :)

  5. I'm surprised it survived the ivy Pat, that plant is voracious.. the Trillium was taking a stance as the official flower :)

  12. I know the name but am not very familiar with trillium. I have probably pulled up quite a few, thinking they were weeds.
