I showed you the sign from Honest Ed's a couple of weeks ago and today I am showing the tribute that the city has done to the iconic store for its upcoming closing. Ed's was known for the handprinted signs that were always used in the windows of the store and the city had replicas of these signs made and decorated the nearby Bathurst subway station with them. The store had saved all of the original signs and there have been several sales of them with some going for hundreds of dollars as collector items.

That;s cool
How fun! It sounds like many people will be sad to see Ed's go.
So maybe, possibly, Ed was honest? It's a nice way of showing respect. An interesting piece of the city's history.
A wonderful tribute. I love the signs.
Awe, such a nice mention for ED!
...the end to era.

It's nice that he will be remembered.
I still have to make a pilgrimage to see this!
What a great tribute! So many great signs!
I hate seeing businesses that have been around for so long have to close. Sounds like someone was pretty savvy saving all their signs.
Great tribute
Neat.
A lot of people are going to miss that place.
Those are certainly signs from another age. I remember prices like that. It was a looong time ago. I am surprised the signs got saved. Good that the city is recognizing the closing of an iconic store.
That's funny! I guess I'll have to try my hand at a few signs. :-)
Too many to read :)
My SIGNS, SIGNS
A nice tribute to a person who obviously contributed to the City's history.
I loved Ed's! I like sign watching, too!
So, Toronto has a sense of humour after all!
Isn't that an impressive thing for the city to do!! Bye, Ed's.
