Arctic Visitor

We see these cute Dark-eyed Juncos here in the winter when them come south from the arctic for the season and they are often gone by now but our temperatures have been cold the last couple of weeks so I spotted a lot of them around last Saturday. They are quite sweet and seem to hang out in groups all the time fluttering about looking for food.

I'm impressed that you know this bird's name. I'd figure it was some kind of sparrow and walk on by! :)

We see them too here in N. California!

This one is either well-fed and plump or puffing out its feathers because it is cold. They are sweet little birds, aren't they?

What a cute little bird. If it comes down from the arctic, it must be well adapted to the cold temperatures.

The junco's body and plumage seem to have been designed for those Arctic climes.

That's a survivor and a very intelligent bird. I wonder if they have a means to check social media and see what their fellow birds are up to :) Nice image!

Cute bird. We have Juncos that hang around here all winter, one of the few that do.
