"Notre Place"

This installation, titled Notre Place, was completed in 2018 on the U of Toronto campus across the road from Queen's Park which is the seat of our provincial legislature. The gathering space with reflective pillars engraved with fleur de lis is meant to pay tribute to Ontario's Francophonie. And as you can see it also provides seating for students and passersby.

I like the abstract nature of this. I was thinking how interesting it will look when the ground is covered with snow.

Anthropologist Lewis Mumford said one of the marks of civilization is great public art, and this is a perfect example.

Hmm, appears to have been winterized. Not good. :-)

It looks like a nice space. Does it have water at other times of the year?

Wonder if there is water programmed as a pond.
