The Mallards have returned to the pond in the Wychwood Park neighbourhood. The pond is quite shaded so it took a long time for the ice to melt. I haven't seen the resident turtles out and about yet though. I like the circular patterns in the water from all of the action of their feet.

I am surprised they got past customs at the border. ;)
They must be very happy with a pond without ice.
It's so good to see the birds!
...they are always a treat to see.
Hello,
Cute ducks, they are in a happy place. Thank you so much for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, stay well! Enjoy your weekend, Happy Easter!
I wonder where they spent the winter. I love watching the ones that spend it here.
Aren't they pretty! It's nice to have them return every year. We're missing some of our birds on trails that are closed now. But it's something to look forward to! Stay safe!
The swirling water turns a pretty photo into a beautiful one!
They are beautiful birds, though often disregarded here as they are so common. At this time of year they turn up in all sorts of unlikely places as they search for nest sites.
Our resident duck population is also back for the season. Happy Easter, Red Pat.
Good to see the ducks are back. Happy Easter, Pat.
I wonder if they're from our swamp. :-)
They are a welcome sight to see.
We've had many mallards around here though the winter. I haven't checked around to see if any have left. The males are so showy but I love the bright blue patch on females at their wings.
Beautiful mallards.
It's good to see any birds at these times, and I like the Mallards and they're calls.
Beautiful, it's all about enjoying the world around them, and us as well. Life goes on and it's a wonderful thing.
They are lovely Pat, you can just imagine them paddling away under the water there 😊
