This homage to the old Midtown theatre was found just off Bloor St W. The theatre has existed here since the 1940s but has had several name changes and is now the Hot Docs Ted Rogers Cinema showing documentary films and doing well until the pandemic hit. One wonders how many theatres will survive. The artist for this one is ACK but there are a few other names which I couldn't read.

I think covid-19 is going to be the last stand for a lot of the movie theatres. Nice to see this one still in good shape.
I also wonder how many movie theaters will survive this crisis. I'm guessing some of the big chains might be okay. It will be hard for the small independents.
Not a big movie goer, like the comforts of home. But do love the art deco feel of these buildings.
Nice find Pat. I like murals with these types of letters, but can never figure out what they spell.
Thanks for participating in Monday Murals Pat.
The homage to the theater is fine, but I do not much like the graffiti tagging style. While it is colorful, it is also chaotic and filled with meaning only known to the artist.
It's special.
Hello,
Nice mural and great to see homage to the theater.
Take care, have a great new week!
I wish this movie theater luck, because so many have already shut down, especially those independent film theaters. This is a lovely mural, with lots of movement, but sadly, I cannot understand (or speak) graffiti.
Hope this theater survives. I always enjoyed going to theaters like these, they usually show films that are not in the bigger ones.
I love walking around with you. What a great town
Hi Pat, hope you are happy and well in these first few weeks of 2021, surely it has to be better than last year. It's pretty quiet around here since my Sydney family flew off a few days ago, miss them already 😊 I really hope the theatres and cinemas do survive Covid, they provide much needed entertainment, when it is needed the most 💙
Nice one.
Quite bright.
Wow it stands out perfectly!
