I was walking along in James Gardens and heard a lot of tapping coming from above and looked up to see at least 6 Downy Woodpeckers bouncing around in this tree having a grand old time. I tried to catch them all in one shot but managed only 3 here. Can you spot them?

What a good photo! And yes, it's hard to see them all. We saw some this week when we hiked too. I guess they are on the move!
The little Downey Woodpeckers are fun to watch, but I usually see them in smaller numbers. They do blend into that tree.
i see them when I know what I am looking for. Otherwise, I don't think I would have.

I got them! Oh, lucky you! I heard one in summer and the tree was too green to spot it.
Nice looking picture but I found them and nice that they are so many at the same time.
