Last week we had a day when the temperature went up to 14˚C which is unusual here in February. We have had above normal temps a lot and I went out to check a patch of flowers and found these Winter Aconites flowering. I have seen them a few times in March but never this early. We got a cold spell last weekend and the wee flowers simply folded their petals up and waited for the sun to warm them up again this week.

They are a welcome sight! I hope they open up once again.
...I haven't seen nothing in flower yet. Everything is cover with ice this morning. Stay warm and well.
Must be a consequence of global warming. These flowers must be a month early. Hope they don't freeze later.
Beautiful! And Mother Nature is so clever!
Very pretty!
They are sweet. But it's worrying when everything is blooming so early.
The same thing is happening here in Kentucky. Daffs are blooming and allergy problems are starting for us all. Very strange weather.
Very pretty. I wonder if they will survive the storm you had yesterday, I hope so.
I hope they are still there when the snow melts.
Very pretty!
A welcome sign of Spring!
Tough flowers to blossom in the extreme cold
Surprising and kind of awesome.
Curious that so many flowers that look alike have different names.
Great early Spring sign. Freezing here.
Pretty yellow flowers, they are a cheery sight.
Have a wonderful weekend!
What you call early birds.
Wooooow!!
Vida nueva. Quiere llegar la primavera.
Un abrazo.
Spring!!!
That is wonderful! We've more snow on the way. Oh well. Spring will come.
Okay, I'm officially jealous we are so far away from anything remotely close to this. You are so lucky.
