I was at James Gardens and could hear Red Winged Blackbirds flitting around in the trees but couldn't get a good look at them until this guy settled near me for a few seconds. His feathers look to be in prime condition at this time of year.

Such a stunning bird - unlike anything we have here.
Their flashes of red are always a delight to see.
That is a fine portrait of this Redwing Blackbird. We have flocks of them around here also.
Hello,
Great capture of the Red-winged Blackbird, one of my favorites.
Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a great weekend. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.
He is a handsome fellow!
Have a blessed day!
Great capture of this beautiful bird.
A beautiful bird! The color of the tension.
What a beautiful bird. I used to see them in Illinois when I lived there but there aren't any here that I know of.
Great catch/snap, Pat.
I have seen these in some parts of town around here.
Alas, urbanization has forced them to find other locales to settle in.
I "see" these in Florida, but they move so fast it is shard to see, focus and shoot in time. Every now and then I run across a lazy one.
Ooh, a new one for me - how marvellous, such colour.
Dazzling red colour!
It's not a bird we have here, I believe. It looks quite fearsome in flight with the red displayed to the front.
They have such a distinctive song. Yes!
What a beautiful bird.
Got to see a lot of them in the suburbs of Chicago while cycling. They get aggressive if you go past their nest. (obviously all birds do that)
This is the male one I suppose.
I never seem to see them close by.
A lovely bird.
You nailed the shot of the Red-winged Blackbird!
Beautiful!
Oh wow that was a lucky capture lucky you!
I love them. Such a good sign of spring, here!
