When I first started posting about the large development on the old Honest Ed's site I mentioned that there was one building owner along Bathurst St who refused to sell his property. Now a couple of years later you can see the holdout brown building in the midst of the mostly white structures around it. It is nice that they didn't put any of the really tall towers right beside it. I did notice that the store in the building is moving around the corner to Bloor St though.

There's no end to it, it seems.
It is sad to see only one of the old, traditional store front buildings. Your photo shows good contrast in tradition and modern architecture.
Great photo, Pat. I love the name of the store, it goes good with the story behind the building that the owner wouldn't sell.
The old brown building does look squeezed in there between the newer buildings. If the store is moving around the corner maybe they gave up and sold the old building. Take care, have a wonderful weekend.
All the buildings are neatly packed together
Cityscapes are so interesting! I love situations like this and have seen them before where something giant goes up completely surrounding a smaller older building. Thanks for sharing Pat! Aloha
Good name for his business, though.
It's quite a contrast.
