First Turtle Sighting Of Spring

I spotted my first turtle of the season last week as he sat upon a log in the pond in the Wychwood Park neighbourhood. It had been a bit sunny but it wasn't really warm so I was surprised to see him out.

Taking part in Saturday's Critters. Click HERE to see more creatures from around the world.

He must have decided to catch a few rays while he could.

A very nice sign of Spring.

...there a neat spot near here where I'd see turtles sunny themselves on a log. Perhaps they were evicted, I don't see them anymore.

He's bringing spring with his arrival.

What curious creatures they are! Spring surely can't be far away now, though it seems very reluctant to really warm up here.

This turtle is trying to warm up after a long cold winter.

Nice one. I'm usually too far away to capture them on camera or they've disappeared into the pool.

Where I am, turtles dive into the water at the first sensing of a human.
