Just down the street from Reggae lane I spotted this old bell out front of a fire hall. It turns out that it was from 1920 and had been installed in an old fire hall when this area was part of York Township before it became part of the city of Toronto.

Good that it's been held onto.
Your photo rings my chimes, and that is no alarm bell. Our undergraduate school had a bell like this which was rung any time a school sports team won a game.
Indeed only a bell used by firemen could be red.
I like that it is bright red!
A nice big red bell. I wonder if anyone tries to ring it.
History.
An unusual sight. I wonder if it still has its clapper inside or if that would make it too tempting to passers-by to ring.
It is a classic
My small town has a bell much like this. A treasure for sure.
What a find!
I love finding pieces of history like that! Cool!
I have the same question. Can you ring it?
Reminds me of a ship's bell that a friend's mother used to tell him it was time to come home for supper. :-)
