The pond in the Wychwood Park neighbourhood was frozen when I walked by recently on the way to a farmers market. I don't think this pond ever freezes well enough to allow skating or even walking on it.
In Riddagshausen they save the fishes, let out most water and give the lakes free to ice-skating. Sadly I´m afraid to fall, it´s some 15 km from here. Right now it´s snowing like crazy and Monday Ingo has to drive to work by car. Enjoy yours, RedPat, I can stay home!

I have little trust in the ice on ponds, so I wouldn't walk on it either. The consequences of falling into the water is just too serious in winter.
...frozen is the order of the day!
I trust the Canal, which opened up on New Year's Eve, but I wouldn't trust river ice or pond ice.
Snow storm here today, chaos everywhere, the joy of Winter, this looks a bit better.
You would have to be pretty brave (and light) to give it a try.
I wouldn't trust it either. You don't get cold enough in Toronto. Sorry, but it's true. Come on out here to the prairies!
It has been such a warm winter where I live (Colorado, along the eastern side of the Rockies), nothing has frozen at all. It's crazy.
