Balconies

 

I always love seeing this small apartment building in the Annex neighbourhood especially in summer when the flowers are out. Usually there are more hanging baskets on the balconies but it still looks wonderful. They have planted trees out the front so I have tried to get this shot from the side.

Cirque

 

Cirque Du Soleil is in town for the next couple of months and I went to a recent performance. This is the view walking from the entrance towards the big top. It it was a wonderful show on a beautiful day.

Happiness

 

I don't drink coffee but we have had so many really hot days this summer that this sign looks good even to me.

 This shot was taken in June on a nice sunny and warm day. I was down walking along the trail beside the Humber River and enjoying the weather. It was nice to look back and remember this on yet another dreary day here.

Pink In Summer

I showed you this pinkish Forest Hill home in spring when the Magnolia was flowering (HERE) and thought I would show you how pretty it looks in summer. It may not be one of the largest homes in the neighborhood but the landscaping makes it special don't you think?

Late August At The Park

It is the time of year when we must take advantage of whatever warm sunny days we have before the days get short and winter comes. I took this pic about a week ago at James Gardens which seems to have become my escape place this summer. It is a wonderful place to sit and recharge!

Flowery Summer

This is a recent shot from the Victorian Garden at Spadina House. There seems to be an ever changing array of perennials there (mostly Phlox in this pic) and they have all flourished this year. I hope winter holds off for a long time!

Rock On!

I was walking along Queen St West one afternoon a couple of weeks ago and could hear great music coming from somewhere and discovered this scene across the road in front of the Horseshoe Tavern. There was a whole band with horns, drums and guitars out playing a set in the sunshine while being filmed, probably for a video. By the time I crossed over they were taking a break but bystanders who had been dancing and cheering were signing release forms so I imagine this will soon be on the web!

An Elegant Place For Summer

This is the side patio at Spadina House as it looked on a fine summer early evening. Wouldn't it be an elegant place to sit out and have a meal? I'm not sure if they ever have any events out there or not.

I just liked this view along Bathurst St on a hot summer day with the woman nearest us trying to stay in the shade while everyone else was stuck out in the sun!
